                                                        Summer 2010 Produce

The garden is owned and operated by John and Jackie Maher with the ongoing help from Cavan, Brendan, Doran and Morgan Maher. Everyone puts in there time to help with whatever needs to be done.

The season is just getting started for us. Thank god for all the rain! We love it. Our apple trees are growing fast now. We have not gotten our irrigation in yet, so all this moisture is a wonderful boost for them.

We scaled back our veggies this year and are doing everything as naturally as possible. No weed chemicals for our corn. We down sized to only 1 acre of corn and it’s all under plastic. We will only have small quantities for the market.

Our green beans and peas should be ready this week (July 27) With Cucumers coming right after. Our tomatoe plants are getting loaded with big green tomatoes. With this nice heat at night, they will be ripening soon.

I’m hoping to post some pictures of the garden this year. Along with some great pictures of our new bee hives. What an adventure this has been.
